Care Assistant

Job Description

As a Home Care Assistant you’ll play a vital role in the lives of our customers, giving them the choice to stay in the comfort of their own homes. If you’re passionate about helping people in your community on a one-to-one basis, we’d like to hear from you. We’re looking for naturally compassionate people to assist adults of all ages who are in need of some extra help at home. Previous care experience is not essential as we provide our award-winning training before you start. And with ongoing support from your local branch and the opportunity to shadow a carer, you get all the assistance you need to really make a difference in your new role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Personal care – help with getting in and out bed, washing, bathing, dressing and, when necessary, help going to the toilet.
  • Overseeing medication – with appropriate training first and all based on the customer’s personal care plan.
  • Household chores – help with tasks and chores around the home, such as vacuuming or preparing meals.
  • Running errands – many of our customers require support getting out and about, so you’ll assist with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions.
  • Companionship – provide company for your customers, treating them with dignity, patience and compassion at all times.
Qualifications
  • Full and valid UK driving licence
  • Access to a car
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent level of English
  • Basic Disclosure (DBS) check – paid for and organised by us

Care Coordinator

Job Description

Are you an experienced care coordinator looking for a real change? It takes a special care coordinator to work for Helping Hands. We pride ourselves on quality, person-centred care and ensure that our care coordinators have the same ethos and are on board with our brand core values.

We are looking for a fast paced, self motivated and customer focussed care coordinator who has the ability to multi task and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You will have an excellent telephone manner, along with good communication and influencing skills and have the ability to work effectively with team members and carers.

Reporting to the care manager and working closely with your carers you will make sure that every customer gets the quality of care that they deserve. As care coordinator you will be responsible for rota planning and briefing carers prior to their care calls, conducting supervisions and managing customer visits when required. You will also support your care manager with the recruitment of new carers, conducting interviews and managing compliance. Put simply, you’ll help to ensure that behind the scenes works as smoothly as possible. Please note this role requires candidates that hold a current British driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Job Responsibilities
  • Allocating the right carer to the right customer at the right time
  • Responsible for authorising carer holiday and cover.
  • Supporting the care manager with customer visits when required.
  • Ensuring all carer and customer records are up to date
  • Participating in the branch on-call rota

This exciting Team Leader role is the coach to a team of highly skilled and motivated Customer Care Professionals (CCPs). As an inspiring coach, the Team Leader will set team and individual performance goals and use performance metrics and reporting to drive performance and business results. They will monitor customer interactions to ensure extraordinary service, and will provide consistent and ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure their teams are performing at their highest levels.

This position operates in a 24/7 environment, including working in shifts and on weekends. Ongoing flexibility is required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of care staff who work in the community
  • Completing care staff on site observations to monitor the quality of service provided.
  • Ensure home and office files are completed and up to date to be compliant with CQC.
  • Ensure new files are set up with all the relevant documentation prior to the commencement of a new service.
  • Complete Service User reviews as required.
  • Ensure that paper work is updated with regards to client changes in service needs.
  • Supervise and manage a team of care workers in the community
  • Provide care and support in emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving license
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3
  • Minimum of 2 years care experience.
